Pushkar is known as a holy place for those who have faith in God. Pushkar is a town in Ajmer district of Rajasthan which is about 15 kilometers from Ajmer city. Its popular for Brahma temple and holy lake. This lake is known as Pushkar Sarovar.

People from various parts of India come here to pray god Brahma and also for the holy bath in months of 'Kartik' especially. This is a crater lake which is a Natural lake. There are many Ghats all around this lake. There are around 52 Ghats from them Gau ghat, and Brahma ghat are popular. Peoples come and ask Brahmin pandit's to pray for them to Lord Brahma. Kartik month is considered to be ideal for ladies and girls to pray to god and visit this lake.

There are temples at these ghats and separate gates. The sound of bells in temples enchants the atmosphere all around this lake. This place is among one of the most popular spiritual travelers in Rajasthan. No photography is allowed at any of the ghats.

After this, it comes Brahma temple which is close to this lake. This temple is the most popular temple of Lord Brahma. The crowd at this temple is at peak mostly, but in months of Kartik(November-December)  crowd is more than I expected.

This town is highly commercialized because most of the foreign and Indian tourists come here. You can find rooms, bike and locals also sell herbal products like Gulkand(made of rose petals), green tea and many other antiques which are really attractive and not costly. Products are of good quality.
If you like to buy some clothes from the local market then it may be a nice place as many colorful clothes like printed t-shirts and pants are available at extremely low prices. If you can bargain then it may reduce your cost. Some shopkeepers don't allow bargaining.

Amusement for kids
In this fair kids amusement is also available, but safety is a must. Stalls of food and beverages are available which gives some energy. Camel rides and buggy rides are good experiences for those who want some more than those markets and lake. It may cost about 300-400 for a ride which takes about an hour. campfire stays are also good options to experience the desert area in the night which includes all meals and sightseeing including camel safari but it costs a bit high, i.e. around 2500 rs for a day.

Savitri temple is another place in this town which is at a height of about 800 feet from the ground. there are many steps if you choose to go on foot, but a ropeway ride is also available by paying 110 rupees and waiting for an hour everytime(up-down). We chose to go by stairs which is much better than any ropeway I think. It takes about 20-25 minutes to go to this temple at the peak.

This town is beautiful and very nice to visit. The peoples, places, food, and temples are must visit for those who want to get some peace and calm. Will definitely go by ropeway next time.

A Roadtrip In Jaipur

It was a rainy season , weather was fine and there was no sun that day. When i came back at home, i decided to go out with one of my friend. I called him and he said Yes. After few minutes he picked me from my home. I had a camera and he too. The purpose was just photography. But actually, its not just clicking pictures, its about keeping your eyes Open.

Panna meena ki bavri
Stepwell known as Panna meena ki Bavri

On the way there are some elephants and some magnificent views of cut rocks as amber is located on a hilly area, so the way is in between rocks and some landscapes too. There are also some gates while entering in the town, sometimes buses and vehicles get struck there due to traffic congestion.

First we went to a place, which was unknown for me. It was not other than a Step well (Bavri) which is known as "Panna Meena ki Bavdi"(a step well dedicated to someone). There were some peoples around including tourists. This step well is wide and has many steps. Bundi city is famous for step wells but you will definitely find some in other cities like jaipur and jodhpur.
You don't need to take any tickets here.

Some peacocks were screaming which made a delightful atmosphere. There are some fishes inside this well, and the another attraction is that colour of water seems green.(see pictures)
After an hour, it was dark so there was nothing to do or see. We headed back to home then.On the way we saw some beautiful views of amber fort which is near to this Step well. Most of the peoples don't know about this place, even those who are living in Jaipur.

Visiting such places is best in rainy season. Evening time is fine if can get there as its a bit away from the city. Though some good accommodation is easily available near this place, but i don't have any idea about prices so make sure to check before your visit.

Know more in detail about - places to visit in Jaipur

Jaipur has after all many places and you need a lot of time to know more of the city and its culture. If have any stories or experiences you can share below.

Don't Visit This City

This is the city is not good. It's more than that. Yes! I am talking about Udaipur, which is also called Lake city. As there are many lakes in this city which you will definitely love. Most of the lakes have landscapes nearby which make it magnificent. You will definitely adore by visiting this place.

If this city is too good then why I am saying not to visit. Wait! I have a reason behind this.
I went to this city a few days back and loved the many things, like peoples I met, places I have visited, and finally, those stunning landscapes which may change anything then You will never like to go back to home. that's why I am saying don't visit this city.

The best things I like here in Udaipur is a lake called Fateh Sagar lake and a palace( A Museum) called City palace museum. This is wonderful places. Even in one or two days is enough but it will be great if we at least spend 3 days. one or two days are like being in a hurry, to know more about any place we have to spend some time there to know about culture, history and many things which are not possible.

A fish aquarium in front of this lake is also a good place, where I saw some beautiful fish and aquatic creatures. for all that, you have to take a ticket and you see transparent boxes with colorful fishes. After it, its time for breakfast. There is a fine restaurant which serves delicious food and snacks which may give extra energy in the summertime.

You can know more about this lake - Fateh Sagar lake

This lake has a Bluish color, especially in the evening around 4-5 which is calm and gives some good vibes. The boat ride is also available in this lake, where they have electric speed boats which take you near to this blue lake. Many street foods are also available there, but I didn't try any. I just bought a water bottle.

After a few steps, it comes to a statue of a legend, "Maharana Pratap" who was a brave warrior and ruler of this region, cannot be forgettable. Udaipur is a city with maximum reserved forests, that's why it's beautiful. One reserved area is near to this lake too which is in front of this lake.

Another one is City Palace, which is a museum with some antiques and a palace which gives a royal feeling being constructed by rulers of Mewar region rulers. After taking the tickets, which costs 300 rs. for Indian tourists, I headed forward where everything was arranged in a systematic manner same like a palace. Those fountains, big royal looking gates, and finally the architecture, everything have something attachment with history and heritage.

As it was the time when there is a "the festival" which is mostly celebrated by peoples of Mewar region of Rajasthan was being celebrated. In this, women have something(pots) on their head and go to a temple. Its celebrated by devotees of God. It's a festival which only women celebrate.

The city is no doubt crowded like other cities of Rajasthan as there are tourists too. Udaipur city attracts many tourists, even some starts Udaipur as its well connected with all other cities of India and easy to reach here.

Accommodation: I will recommend a hotel, Backpacker Panda, personally. As it's not heavy on the pocket to stay here otherwise you can find many good deals at online bookings. It costs around 250 rs a night which is fine I think with ac rooms. (Afterall it's in front of the lake fs)

*accommodation is only based on personal experience, no affiliations.

There is a telescope in mid of this lake. The curves of the landscapes may attract. Visiting the same place at different timings is best for me. Especially if its a lake, then two timings are fine, like morning and evening which will give both the sides of a place.

This is all I had. If have any queries or something to share, comment below to let me know about your thoughts.

Visit to Lal Bagh Palace, Indore

Lal Bagh Palace, Indore

Palace and museum show history, ancient culture, and it also represents the way people lived. A Palace mostly shows luxury lives of those rich and well established families and rulers of that time.

Recently it was a visit to a palace called, Lal Bagh Palace in Indore. Its architecture outside is common, not much attractive from outside like other place's and museum's But Architecture inside the palace is really beautiful.

Side view of the Palace

The palace is sign of Holkar rulers who ruled this region. It was built by Tukoji rao and shivaji rao belongs to holkar dynasty. Its construction started 1844 and end upto 1903 ad.

After taking tickets we headed inside. The palace has big entry gates.  At the entry gate we have to put our mobile and camera, as camera and cellphones are not allowed inside the palace. Its well finished palace and it gives a royal look. Walls are painted with bright colours. after a few footsteps, it was a Dining hall, where one thing i found attractive was paintings at ceilings which was reflecting on a table on the floor. Some paintings depicts royal families portraits and queen which catches eyes of everyone. There are beautiful carvings on the walls which makes it different.

Another view

After this , another thing you will definitely like here is Statue's of tigers which looks like real. The skin of tiger was used to make these. The sharp teeth's and the skin fills it with reality. Though these are enclosed in a glass box for protection. If you are going there with kids, then they will surely like it. Length of the tiger is almost 6 feet or even more.
(no pictures)

Then when you will go up stairs, there are some other statues, antiques and different clocks. there were some meeting rooms and guest rooms which shows occasional gatherings of palace.

It takes about an hour maximum to visit the palace. Though there is a garden when you come out of the palace. This garden is filled with trees, and the statues of British rulers can be a good place to take selfie's. Here you can take pictures.

Statue in garden at lal bagh palace

As it was a Sunday, noise of children's playing cricket was encouraging me to play with them, as the palace is next to a ground. Maybe Next time!

Visiting time of this palace is 10 am to 5 pm and its closed on Monday.
